Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you cut keys?

A: Yes! You might think this is a silly question, but we hear it at least once a week. We stock well over 1000 different key blanks, and can cut keys for your home, office, padlocks, or vehicle, including high security and transponder auto keys.

Q: I've heard about locksmith scams on the news, how do I know you're legit?

A: We have been in business in St. Cloud since 1972, and have built our reputation with honest work at a fair price. We always give a price quote over the phone for lockouts, and we stick to the price we quote. 99% of the time, we can get in without too much difficulty, but if a lock absolutely can't be picked or bypassed, we'll give you the option of drilling and replacing the lock, or having us leave without any charge. You can check FindALocksmith.com, a website run by the Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) for trustworthy companies in your area.

Q: Do I have to buy new locks for my house if I want a different key?

A: Usually not! We can usually re-key your locks to a new key for much less than it costs to purchase new lock hardware. Sometimes locks do wear out, so we'll tell you if it's in your best interest to replace, but it's always your decision to make.

Q: Can I have different locks in my home or office work with the same key?

A: It depends if they are the same brand of lock or not. If you can slide one key into all of your locks, then we can key them alike in most cases. In offices, it can be helpful to create a master key system where each office has it's own key, but one master key will also open all of the offices. We can help set up any size master key system to match your needs.

Q: Can you come to my house to work on my locks, or do I have to bring them to you?

A: Either one is fine with us. We have 3 service vehicles for mobile work. If you want to save some money, and are handy with a screwdriver, by all means, take the locks off and bring them in, you will save yourself a service call charge. Otherwise,we have many customers who have no desire to disassemble their locks, and we are happy to go out to them for whatever service they need!
